Well, we South South HypeHub has been following him up alot, so recently, we decided to take him on an Interview. Below is the interview questions and answers.
Ques: Emmanuel Ajala. The "Ajala" in your name, is it your real name or it's actually your music and your stage name? And what exactly is the meaning of it?
Ans: "Ajala" is my surname and in igbo, it means "riches and wealth" But if you want to translate in igbo, it means "Sand". it's actually a name That I love so much and it gives me good luck. Even when others sees it as negative, I still choose it and have even given it to my kids.
Ques: How many years have you been into music?
Ans: I started playing life band in 1995 and I was also in choir. Then, 1997, I started performing in shows, playing keyboard, lit and base guitar, and also drums. Though I paused in 2002 to focus in my school, and since I didn't have anyone to sponsor me, I had to hustle for money and started releasing songs officially in 2019 till date. Music is one thing that really gives me Joy, music is a language of emotions so indirectly, I've been into music for 26years now.
Ques: As an Engineer that you are, How do you cope combining music with your work, how's the stress like? Do you sometimes feel like giving up? Is it really that stressful to you?
Ans: Music is one thing that really gives me Joy like I said earlier, and combining it with my job, I'm not seeing it as stress. You see, my music is different. I'm not copying anyone, I create from the scratch starting from the beats. I pass message to give Hope, Joy, Encouragement and advice to people. So I enjoy every beat of what I do and I devote my time and inspirations to do them despite how tired I may be.
Ques: Okay Sir, in this our Akwacross Ent, which mistake do you think is what both the up and coming artistes are making that is really taking them backwards?
Ans: Being in competition with each other, Before you go into music, define the aim "Why are you doing Music". We look up to government to help artistes and when they fail, we start unnecessary beef and hatred. You need to define the area of help that you want, They keep seeing everyone as a rival forgetting that we grow by helping others to grow. No love amongst us, we should love each other by sharing each others contents. They should stop the Enviness, they need to stop envying each other and share ideas with one another. Let's stop copying each others pattern and be original.
Ques: Do you support "Cartel" in the industry?
Ans: Cartel won't make you grow, cartel is just like a cultism where everything centers within the circle, they don't extend the love to those outside. It brings enviness and hatred.
Ques: Who's your role model?
Ans: Late Chief Osadebe, Oliver de Coque and Flavour Nabania.
Ques: According to one of your recent posts on facebook, where you were seeking for No number, do you have plans of featuring him anytime soon?
Ans: Yes I do, although I've not concluded with the normal procedure, that's why I'm yet to disclose the big news to my fans for now till I'm 💯 sure.
Ques: Wow! Congratulations in advance sir. So sir, still in Akwacross Entertainment , what's the mistake you notice that is really rampant amongst upcoming artistes and what do you think they lack?
Ans: Lack of Mentors, seeing themselves as celebrities which is really difficult for them to take advice from those who have expanded more than them in the music business. Coming up with the mentality of making money forgetting that everything is a process, and lack of a good manager.
Ques: Which Popular musician in Nigeria would you like to feature if given a chance and opportunity to choose?
Ans: Popular musician I would love to feature is Flavour because of my Highlife genre. But outside higlife, i go for Tiwa Savage because I really love her pattern of music.
Ques: Your upcoming project, "My Mama" what gave you the inspiration to write the song, and who are you dedicating it to?
Ans: My mother gave me the inspiration to write the song, and I'm actually dedicating it to her because she's a very generous kindhearted and a loving woman. It's also dedicated to all the good mothers all over the world..
Ques: So sir, the last but not the least, What's your advice to every other artistes out there who are still grinding to make it in life through music?
Ans: Have a side hustle, know the areas to invest, try to know what the people loves and admires about you, then focus on that. Have patience. Don't depend on people. Learn to make good use of your social media handles. And most importantly, the celebrities should support the upcoming artistes by sharing their page and timeline.
